Hello Everyone

 

How are you?  As we start this week it is the beginning of two very important ‘Awareness Weeks’ that I wish to highlight, Mental Health Awareness Week and Dementia Action Week.

 

  1. Mental Health Awareness Week - here is the link to the main page to share with you how to get involved Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 | Mental Health Foundation  But for more local support I wanted to share with you our link to the Mental Health Pages we share through Live Well Mental Health help for adults and for older people (cheshireeast.gov.uk) but also I have included the localised documents being promoted this week, including the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ actions and activities for this week. Also, I have attached the CWP Mental Health 24 Hour Support Line. 

 

Finally, Cheshire East Council with it’s Health Partners are developing a Mental Health Plan and they have asked us to share with everyone the Consultation Portal link where you can share you views and thoughts of what is needed to improve mental health and wellbeing in Cheshire East.  Deadline for completion is 4th June 2023.  Here is the link to have your say Consultations in Cheshire East

 

  1. Dementia Action Week – I have shared with you some attachments of support, activities and opportunities being run across Cheshire East this week supporting those families living with dementia but also an opportunity for people to learn more. 

 

In addition to this I have attached an Easy Read document which has been produced we would love some of our adults to get involved in the Dementia Plan, your voice is important as this can affect us all.  Please see the information about how you can do this, it would be a great action for this Dementia Action Week.

  • Time Out Group – have shared with us their activities this week please contact them for more information as some of the trips are already fully booked but there is lots going on, I have attached the poster for you and don’t forget their open day next week.
  • SUSO – have shared with us this week’s activities which I have attached along with reminders of the Therapy Dog Visit and how this year they are getting involved with Barnaby and the activities that they are doing towards this.  I have included all the posters for you to look at.
  • All Abilities Disco, Congleton – the next disco being hosted at The Vale Club in Congleton on the 28thMay 2023 I have attached the poster for.
  • Motherwell – have shared with us their latest newsletter with all the support, help and activities they offer which I have attached for you to look at.
  • Silky Sundays – please see the latest information attached about the next all abilities disco being hosted in Macclesfield at the Packhorse by Sean he would love to see you.
  • Old Saw Mill, Congleton – is a community café with so many different groups and activities they welcome everyone.  Please follow the link to see the latest newsletter and what’s on.  Old Saw Mill Newsletter - The Old Saw Mill
  • Autism Inclusive – Gaming 14+ returns from the 15thMay 2023.  To book sessions ongoing please visit their website which I have shared the link, Upcoming Events – Autism Inclusive (aicrewe.org.uk) however please also note their new address I have attached the original update so you have the new address details.
  • Princes Trust, Macclesfield - Chris and the team have only 3 spaces left for their next programme starting 22nd May 2023 that they are running and would love to hear from anyone aged 16-25 that would like to get involved please follow the link which shares with you contact information but also what they offer Prince's Trust (cheshirefire.gov.uk)
  • ***NEW*** Adult Colouring, Wilmslow Library – please see the attached posters for the start of this new group launching on the 7thJune 2023 and will be running weekly, come along at 10.30am everyone is welcome.

  • Self-Advocates Group (Learning Disability Partnership Board) – being hosted at the Guild in Wilmslow please see the flyer for more information about the next meeting we would love to see you.
  • Social and Art Groups, Sandbach – Sue runs weekly art sessions and a social group at Wheelock Church please see the attached leaflets for further information on a Tuesday and Friday each week.
