Welcome from the Headteacher

Ofsted 2019
I am pleased to write these few words on behalf of our governors, staff and pupils. Starting a new school can be daunting, but rest assured we will do everything we can to make your child welcome and to quickly settle into school. Springfield is proud of its high standards and the achievement of all our pupils. We aim to create a safe and positive working environment where all pupils can develop, achieve and be happy.
Being a Headteacher has been a lifelong ambition and I decided that Springfield was the school where I wanted to carry out that ambition. I was absolutely delighted when I was appointed in February 2016.
My aim is to carry on the fantastic work already achieved at Springfield School and look forward to the future to see what we can further achieve for our pupils and families.
Prior to being Headteacher, I have had the pleasure of working at Springfield School for 9 years as Assistant Headteacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed my job managing the Sixth Form and Secondary department and watching pupils develop and grow. One of the highlights of my job has been coordinating pupils leaving school and ensuring the smooth transition between school and their next placement. It is always a joy to see pupils return to tell us what they have achieved beyond school knowing that we have helped build the foundations for them to progress.
We want all students ultimately to leave our school with the skills to survive the world, with a degree of support and with confidence, where they can deal with other people, their demands, expectations and achieve independence. We want the five Every Child Matters outcomes for all our students, being healthy, safe, both enjoying and achieving, making a contribution and entering the adult world with the skills to sustain if possible some level of employment.
The best way to find out more about us is to come and see the school at work. We are always pleased to meet parents and prospective pupils. Please telephone the school to make an appointment.
Our school mission statement is ”to exceed expectation” and we work towards all our children exceeding everyone’s expectation and excelling during their time at Springfield school.
I look forward to working with you.
“The assessor was given a comprehensive tour of the school
by two sixth form students. She was impressed not only by
their depth of knowledge on all aspects of school life but
also by the warmth and strength of relationships evident
between all age groups.”
